Damon Grossman has a modern approach to music and meditation creations, while never forgetting to emphasize the importance of ancient “analog” feelings. But musical journeys of the Zen Drummer definitely include digital moments for trippy effects and high end audio.

Damon’s musical sensibilities were refined by his immersion experiences of living as a monk in Paramahansa Yogananda’s Self-Realization Fellowship Ashrams in Escondido and Encinitas from 2013 to 2016. He developed his studies of djembe at the Dagbe Institute in Ghana, Africa for extended periods in 2003 and 2007.

The ‘Zen Drummer’ broadcasts virtual classes and performances from his Colorado based professional recording studio featuring Ableton Live to create quality transcendent and immersive experiences. His toolkit includes the Universal Audio Apollo x4, Townsend Labs Sphere Microphones, and a collection of Djembe.

A powerful, resonant voice married with engaging rhythms, Damon skillfully layers elements with a smorgasbord of ambient pads and natural sounds. This powerful union has blossomed opportunities for Damon to travel around the world and perform with world renowned yoga-music centric teachers and musicians including, Saul David Raye, Girish and Wah. The goal is always to create rhythmically reverberating and relaxingly melodic sound baths.

Damon has completed certification in Christine Stevens’ drumming and Yoga Alliance Certified Sound Healing modality: Rhythms for Healing.
